Speaking as a disgruntled Tech fan.... If the Jackets cant beat Fake Worest, why try to get VT and Miami into the ACC?

Hey, the why doesn't Tech come on back to the So Con and compete for #2 in the conference with Appy and Furman?

:stupid: 'Cause Akron is such an expert on football power    .

In case you haven't heard Akron, GT just lost half its top talent to grades. Georgia Southern, however, just had one of its best recruiting years ever. Not to mention, if GT can't beat Fresno, they sure as hell can't beat the best 1-AA team in the country. :ninja:

I do know what I'm talking about, sir.

You're kidding yourself. You wouldn't stand a chance against GA Tech. That's a fact. I don't care if Tech loses all of their players, their freshmen would beat you. Recruiting is better, athletes are better, and the speed of the game is different - period.

Tech has a tougher schedule, a much much much much much x 100 tougher conference. 'Nuff said my friend.

I like your spirit, but 1-AA is 1-AA.

More prestige, more fan following, everything at Tech is better - that includes recruits and players, too.

I believe any team can beat anyone on a given day. If all the cards fall into place, injuries have to be taken into consideration....plus, maybe one team is looking ahead on the schedule and takes someone lightly.

Marshall has had this happen to them recently and we have also done it to other teams.

I learned to respect Ga Southern from our days in 1-AA and I have nothing but respect for the program. I, am a believer!!

04-cheers

I respect GA Southern's place in the Div I AA ranks, but give it a break. The NFL is to Division I as Division I is to Division I AA. Sure GA Southern would have a chance to beat Tech, but out of 100 games, Tech would probably win 90 of em.

It is like saying Florida State can beat the Cincinnati Bengals.

We played Southern in 2000 and I can tell you that it wasn't as easy as some of you would think (we won 29-7). They weren't like playing Tennessee or Florida, but I think they're much better than the UConn's and New Mexico State's of the world.

After watching Tech last year and during the off-season, I would put money on Southern for next year if they played Tech. That's a fact

GSU is like Marshall all over again. They're a team that could make some real noise if they ever decided to go IA.

Furman has beaten Tech in the past (80's), WCU almost beat them in the 1-10 season, Citadel has given them a game or two.

If App State can beat Wake... GSU can certainly take on GT. Akron, 1-AA isn't quite as pittiful as you make out. And, if GT was fielding an O'Leary team this season...your right...they'd beat us 90 out of 100 games. But, they're not fielding an O'Leary squad this season. They are fielding a mashed together group of unruly INDIVIDUALS and calling it a team. 6 starters flunk out because of grades. That, my friend, is trouble in the hen house.

Don't get me wrong here, I am a Tech fan. Have been all my life. But, I'm a GSU alumnus FIRST! ...and this is a smack board.

I watched Tech play last season... If that is what they can do with ALL their talent...I KNOW GSU CAN BEAT THEM. And if Akron wants a piece, they can try putting us on the schedule to.

The only team that has the brass tacks to give us a once-every-four-year invite is UGA. The ONLY reason they do it is the Erk connection. Nobody in 1-A every calls us. Our AD has to hunt every season to find a 1-A with and open spot....they STILL say no.

UK last season, no. Same with Ole Miss. UF won't play us again. Oregon State has publically anounced that we are never invited back. Chan Gailey himself said that GSU will never be put on the schedule.

That ain't disrespect, my friend, THAT IS FEAR. 04-cheers
