NIUGAMBLER Wrote:niu85alum Wrote:Dan Nicholson is viewed as a high ceiling prospect. He too will fit into the QB equation at some point. Healthy competition should be in place next spring and summer to see who will be the starter. Horvath and Carr would seem to have the inside track for 2005. Whether Nicholson and Britt Davis are ready to legitimately compete for the starting job next year will be interesting to watch. Joe Novak had no qualms going with sophmore Josh Haldi in 2002.
Yes but nicholson and Davis will be freshman....
And No way will Horvath be the starter, MARK THIS DOWN AS MY HUNCH!
I'd say that's a pretty good hunch. :D

It's fun to talk about as fans, who might be our future QB, but I think we all just trust Joe and his staff to put the person on the field who gives us the best chance to win, whether it's Carr, Ulrich, Horvath, Nicholson or Davis.
To say "I'd cry if we started Horvath", is silly in my opinion, because if it was Phil, that's who Joe and his staff think gives us the best chance to win with.

Agreed the trick is too keep eveyone happy. One or more of these guys could end up at a D1AA school to seek playing time. You can not be happy as a QB that does not play.
