Sep 6 @ DUKE..... Duke is improved somewhat, but I feel we can hang with them better than we could NCSU. Not quite good enough as shades of 1998 rear their ugly head late in the game. LOSS 17-24 0-2, 0-0

Sep 13 JOHNSON C. SMITH....the Bulls from Charlotte ride over to the mountains and go back missing their horns. This should be a lot of fun. WIN 56-10 1-2, 0-0

Sep 20 THE CITADEL....With nearly everyone back, they are going to be a formidable opponent, but we've had their number lately, winning 3 of the last 4, and with winning last year in the Charleston heat, the mountains at night shouldn't be a problem for us. This will be a good football game. WIN 31-28 2-2, 1-0

Sep 27 @ ETSU....this game scares me. Seriously. This team is gonna do their best to make every team remember them on their way out, but we will also remember our performance against them last year. We win, but close. WIN 20-12 3-2, 2-0

Oct 4 FURMAN....I cannot wait for this game! Losing by only a point last year to the # 4 team in the nation, IMO, can only serve notice. We have to step up sometime this season, and we do it on a cool early October night. Defensive struggle. WIN 13-10 4-2, 3-0

Oct 11 @ GSU....(refer to Eagle's prediction and it's basically the same as mine) LOSS 28-14 4-3, 3-1

Oct 18 WOFFORD....2002 was a fluke bullpups. Back to reality. WIN 35-14 5-3, 4-1

Oct 25 @ UTC....see ETSU, but not that dramatic. We pull away late. WIN 35-21 6-3, 5-1

Nov 1 ELON....welcome to the SoCon, mountain style. WIN 38-13 7-3, 6-1

Nov 15 @ APP.STATE....they clearly have the mental edge, and the confidence. But, stranger things have happened. Something tells me, it's our year. WIN 12-10 8-3, 7-1

You can beat Duke if the ACC refs don't screw you. If you beat App, no way you'll lose to the Devils.

They will not beat Duke. Duke is better than you Division I-AA teams think. Remember, they are playing in the ACC, not some weak I-AA conference. Duke played very close in most of their ACC games last season. Remember, it came down to a missed FG to lose to NC State. Give me a break, let the Catamounts play in the ACC for 1 season, and we will see what their record looks like. Duke didn't lose anyone from last season, by the way. We have the best RB duo in the ACC with Alex Wade & Chris Douglas.

And this coming from a fan of a team that last won a conference game in....hmm, the 20th century. Last time we played, you beat us 24-10, struggling to do that. Go cast another "no to expansion" vote Dookie boy! GO CATAMOUNTS!! :eek:

Weak I-AA confernce? I bet ASU's record vs Wake Forest over the last 30 years is about as good as Duke's. ASU beat them 7 times and tied once.

Hmm let's see, last time they played Western Cackalina, they beat you 24-10.
In '99 they beat Virginia, Maryland, Wake. Last season they beat ECU and came within 2 pts of UNC.
If the Devils're only as good as last season, WCU is in trouble. Thing is, with Duke's conference schedule always looming, they can't afford to put much priority on you WCU Cooties.
The even sadder thing, it's doubtful that even a single player on the Western Cackalina roster could get into Duke!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D
