I can give you a few tips on bars in the Hartford area. The best area is the Asylum/pratt Street area in Downtown. Some bars are Pig's Eye Pub,Black Eyed Sally's(blues,bbq), Club Blu and Coach's(on Allyn Street, owned by the football coach so depending on the outcome, yyou may or may not want to go :D ). If you want out of that area, Half Door is at 270 Sisson Ave in Hartford. As for anything near UConn itself, there doesn't seem to be much(it is REALLY in the middle of nowhere. There is Teds Place(college) and in nearby town of Coventry try Bidwell Tavern(for the "older" crowd-may be more expensive).
