Pickups include 2 mid major transfer guards who averaged double digits at previous schools, cochran (NIU, BSU) who is good friends w current UT pg RayJ Dennis and should be a better fit at UT than he was at a confused BSU team last year. Devin Maddox was 3rd in Mr Basketball voting in Illinois and played 2 years at Fullerton St (NCAA team). Both are muscular versatile guards than can defend. cochran is strong enough to play a little forward too and Maddox is more of a scorer. UT also adds a good HS pf recruit Simmons who the staff compares to former buffalo big nick perkins from MI, strong and skilled but a little short for a center/pf. UT has 1 open spot now (probably for a big) and 2 if rollins leaves (that would probably be filled by another scorer).

UT also returns oft-injured starting center AJ Edu. if he can stay healthy he'll be the league's best rim protector/interior defender, led MAC in blocks as a skinny freshman playing 14 minutes a game. only played 4 games last three years but has added 30 lbs of muscle and is working on his MBA.

Toledo will be the team to beat
