Me thinks too many here are too willing to give all the credit to McElwain and Hammock because of one good season. Let's see what they do next year. Do you remember Fleck at Western when he had an unbeaten team and went to the Cotton Bowl? Everyone was ga-ga over Western who was going to dominate the MAC for years to come. I think the next year Western was 8-5. Not a bad record, but not the world beater people were predicting.
So, let's just wait until next year, and see what happens.

Come on Ken. McElwain has been good for a long time. You might not like how he does it, but there’s no question about his ability.

I agree the jury is out on Hammock, but he looks beyond promising.
With respect to you, since I really enjoy your insight, and posts, but Mcelwain has had 3 good years at C Michigan! A MAC championship, A big bowl win, and a long history of success, and Hammock I agree with just one season, but N Illinois is young and very talented, and heading in the right direction! And, I agree with Eaglehawk, I see Moorehead having Akron extremely competitive in 2-3 seasons!

Agreed. And although Hammock is still without a sustained track record, he just accomplished a feat that would be statue-worthy at EMU.
