Its a whole new dimension of talent evaluation and resource management. Michigan State has been EXTREMELY successful with transfer players. Part of Clemson falling off is that they lost like 20 kids to the portal and took in 0.

To paraphrase the expression used in financial circles, "past success is no guarantee of future..."

As our father indicates, players want to PLAY. If they think their school is loaded at their position and they are stuck, they may wish to look elsewhere.

I have NO idea IF MSU will do well in the transfer this year or Clemson will do poorly again. Will players want to go to Clemson seeing an opportunity to join and play at a top rated program?

Totally unchartered territory. Last year we got transfers from P5 schools, a FCS school, etc.

Pulling players from above and below us is going to be important for EMU going forward. If CC and his assistants can identify good fits and recruit them into our program it will give us an advantage over programs that struggle with it.
