As of today, the Massey composite for the end of the season sits at:

1 - SEC (43.00)
2 - B12 (46.69)
3 - B1G (48.95)
4 - P12 (49.60)
5 - AAC (60.29)
6 - ACC (60.63)
7 - MWC (74.35)
8 - SBC (82.46)

If the 2020 season starts with those rankings, the AAC's new number would be 54.40 (removing UConn from the calculation). That's already ahead of the ACC (they are even with UConn right now), about 5 away from the Pac 12 and 6 from the Big Ten.

If somehow Boise were the 12th member, the AAC's new number would be 51.87, and the MWC's new number would be 78.93. Now you're clearly MUCH closer to the A5 and, simultaneously, MUCH further from the other G5's.

If the AAC pried Boise, AF and SDSU (who had previously joined the Big East), the AAC's number would be 49.15 and the MWC's number would be 89.16. A conference interested in creating the narrative of a P6 and one that had ESPN helping them to retaliate against a conference who had decided to move away from them could do alot to advance that narrative.

Food for thought...

It's an open question whether there would be other MWC programs who would be interested in joining Boise in an exodus. Remember, the travel issues also apply to all the other MWC programs. Then it's a question of whether Disney is interested in chipping in money to create a "super G" conference that spans the nation. There are the upcoming contracts for the Big 12, Pac 12, Big 10, NHL and NFL within the next six years. Those would take a huge chunk out of the funds. Then there's that crazy outlay they're about to commit to the SEC.

Disney already has the AAC for pennies for the dollars in comparison to those I listed above. To me, the incentive is not there right now. Things can always change, though.
