It's a mystery what's going on there. 10 players in one day in the portal isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of a healthy program either. It remains to be seen what happens with them.

The 10 players to the transfer portal thing is overblown. They were mostly walk-ons or people with little playing time. Last year was worse as we lost a number of starters and a couple of key contributors when Moglia announced he was stepping away. This year we were (once again) one of the younger teams in the country. We also had a fair share of injuries, something like the 5th most number of starters throughout the season.

But we have to be able to break out of the cycle at some point. We have a good number of key guys returning this year. We also seem to be hitting the JuCos pretty hard to help beef up our depth. So hopefully 2020 is the year of 6+ wins and a bowl.

Once you hit the JuCo cycle, it's difficult to stop. Either retain your depth, even if its less than quality, and develop those guys, or recruit a larger class of freshman based on what you've learned that you need at this level.

I tend to agree but also know that we need to make up some of the depth.
