Worried but not panicked yet...lol

I wonder if this local high school would get the call to be the backup? No fans at the game so seating wouldn't be an issue.

Here is a look at the PFTE being installed on the roof over the playing surface.

A ton of respect for the Ironworkers who are working on the roof.

Here is an IG video from a local Syracuse ironworker. Pretty awesome video from back in the summer

The final portion of the roof needs to be installed. Lighting and speakers finalized. Remove all the boards/paneling covering level two from the weather, and clean up. Reinstall the Fieldturf (it is palletized and is done quickly). And most importantly inspection to open.

Since it won't get stress tested with 40-50K fans initially they should be able to get approval to continue to work around the games. I think they want to try to do some Phase 2 items if they can ahead of schedule. Limited AC in the building should be soon. Full AC is expected for Fall 21.

Phase 2 if fully done (money still available? with Covid-19), new seating, blowing out concourses, improved eating amenities and upgraded suites. These projects are are smaller and can be done piecemeal. There is talk with the new seating and suites the capacity could get reduced to 44,000.

I really hope SU could host the NCAA Basketball championship within 10 years. It would be nice to have it on campus once in awhile.
How much is phase 1 and phase 2 and how is being funded?

Phase 1 is taken care of...mostly through donations from what I heard. Phase 2? that is the big question. My thought is it could be scaled back.

Phase 1 was listed at $118M...however, doing the AC work early has likely increased costs. No word yet on a new naming sponsor. My guess is still Carrier. They still have engineering, education and customer service centers in Syracuse.
$118M

The original cost for the Dome was $27M in 1980. One of the best bargains on all of sports for usage.
