RE: Conference Realignment for D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and USCAA 2020 and Beyond
With the “merger” of Jessup University with Multnomah University in Portland, I would say based on historical precedent, athletics, and most likely the entire campus in Portland will be short lived.

A lot of these “mergers” (I put that in quotes because the mergee is typically facing closure in short order without the merger) last for a few years and then the campus of the failed college is permanently closed. Or in these cases, they often sell it as “consolidating” to the main campus of the stronger institution.

When Florida Christian merged with Johnson in Tennessee, the Florida campus of the new Johnson University remained open with dorms and athletics for several more years, before ultimately closing.

Same thing with Nebraska Christian and Hope International.

If the past is any indication, the Cascade Conference may be down a member in the next few years.
