I don’t follow D3 especially closely, but it looks like the USA South Conference split in 2022. Berea seems to have been stuck in the half they didn’t want to be in and the half that probably required more travel.

To add insult to injury, the newly spun off conference also has to wait a couple years to be eligible for automatic bids to nationals.

Kentucky has been somewhat of a no man's land in D3, with some schools in northern conferences and others in southern conferences. This move unites Berea with Transylvania, the first time in forever that two Kentucky schools have shared a D3 conference. (It's also worth noting that Asbury will finish their provisional period in 2024 and hasn't joined a conference yet.)
What are you hearing on d2 going to subdivisions?
