Vanguard is still building their new gym. I wouldn't be surprised if they hold off application until it's done. There's a history (Cal State San Marcos) of D2 not accepting an application until a new gym is in place. But the membership standards don't appear to be what they used to be, so it may not be an issue.

Do you think there will eventually be just one conference from the remnants of the GSAC and the Cap PAC members?

Will Simpson go north and join the Cascade since I assume they’re going to be a Frontier football member?

Will the Arizona schools break off if they can get the numbers? I know some have thrown around some potential configurations that could be more realistic down the road, even if not right now- including schools like SAGU-AIC or Northern New Mexico. I could see wanting to reduce travel, but I could also see wanting to continue to play games in California and the travel not being that big of a deal to some AZ NAIA’s. What I can’t help but notice is the Arizona schools from both conferences play each other in non conference anyway, so a primarily Arizona based conference would force those schools to travel for non conference games and almost balance out the same either way.
