Being from Columbus I am excited to hear this. Sports legitimizes the university.

I do not understand adding baseball and softball. The weather will be iffy every year and southern trips expensive.

I like the idea of cross country running around the campus.

Yes, I see a lot of cancelations in the early spring because of weather in the northern latitudes in the NAIA. But some of the northern leagues now include a "fall season" for baseball and softball, which helps them get a few games in before the Fall weather gets bad.

The AD at IUPUC is a former major league baseball player which explains why they are adding baseball and softball. He seems to know what he is doing!

Another school that will probably apply to join the River States Conference to be with the other IU branches in Southern Indiana
