RE: Conference Realignment for D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and USCAA 2020 and Beyond
In case you missed it, Southern Indiana played #22 Auburn in exhibition last weekend (Bruce Pearl was USI's coach for their '95 championship, and Stan Gouard was one of his players, now USI's coach).

USI showed that they can, in fact compete - they started with a 9-0 run and maintained the lead for nearly 15 minutes of the first half. Went into the locker room down 2.
A strong start to the 2nd half saw USI leading 54-46 at the 9:00 mark, but they suddenly ran out of gas and didn't score a point for the rest of the game, letting Auburn take the last 22 points. Final score, 54-68.

A disappointing end to an otherwise very exciting game. I know, it is difficult to really read exhibition results, but I don't think Pearl would have his (ranked) team sandbagging the first half.
