Schools don't drop those sports because they can't afford to. McKendree would have about 400 students if they didn't have 50 sports.

Schools like Quincy squeak by every year, and they are good at doing it. They aren't in danger of closing, assuming things stay as they have in the past. The first major crisis that happens to these schools who continually eek out a hand to mouth existence, they enter a death spiral and don't last but a few.more years. They don't have the runway needed to take off again.

The issue these small schools with less than 1500 students struggle more on the education side that have debt. One of the issues pointed out is that these schools don't look at non-traditional students like the public schools do.

David, you have been rattling on about this for nearly four years (and added your own unsourced nonsense) like it's some big revelation. There's nothing new about this. Schools have closed or merged for at least 90 years. It's sad for the students who have to suddenly find a way to finish their degree and sad for the people who lost their jobs but the world keeps turning.

Still waiting on that list of colleges who DO NOT have any debt.
