I have much of the same thoughts you do. But still will give the process a chance, instead of piling on so soon. I see things that should be addressed. And, while I didn't have great expectations for this season, I do think play should improve sooner than later. I learned during the Wainright and Brownell eras that we lost a lot of winnable non conference games due to their experiments in preparation for conference play.
I still don't see us contending this year, but hope the play improves. I will give McGrath the time to build something with his players to fit his style of play. We have no other choice for the next couple years anyway, except to support our players. If it doesn't turn around, then we will be cursed with another coaching search. Something I am very tired of and will try my best to support our players in a positive way as much as I can. Don't ever think that even the negativity in this little fan board won't reach the players and weigh on them. It happened when Moss was here. Young guys these days pay attention to this stuff. I mentioned to the Keatts coaching staff early on about the negativity on this board. And the chances if it affecting players. Especially comments about individual players. They were very aware of it. I feel that, as fans, we have every right to express concerns. But I don't think it's good hammering a player incessantly. And that has happened.
