When the SCMP ran the story in HK they realized the mistake and pulled all record of the report and the group hastily claimed it disbanded. But make no mistake there are such cells at UCLA, UCSD, Cal, Michigan, Texas, Florida, Harvard and elsewhere.

China not Russia is our biggest security problem. Unlike Rusia which has only a little more than 1/3rd the US population and less than 10% of the US GDP (consumer more like 5%), China actually just passed the US GDP. (American view of power in the world is still stuck in 1975)

It sounds like there's nothing inherently illegal with this, provided you register your organization with the DOJ, and upon being notified they'd established incorrectly they disbanded after being a thing for all of two weeks. Not sure what you want the administration at UC Davis to do given that they appear to have attempted to comply with the law. If this is about a nationwide spy ring that isn't being broken up your beef is with Jeff Sessions.


That being said, I don't understand why you're making this the basis for agreeing that UC Davis should stay at the FCS level (and they should, btw - that MW invite isn't coming).
