Overseas leagues are very different depending on what level. A good friend of mine has a son who was a potential second round pick out of a Big Ten school about 8 years ago. He played in an upper tier team in Turkey and then in Israel. He was making about $200-250k per year tax free, so the money was good. He played in the D league for a half a year and never got a call up. He decided to retire at age 28. Euro leagues are a better life style and most pay less, but not chump change for a 20 something.
