Cameron is on my All Metro Player of the Year nominee list and will receive many more honors from me this week and next. Last night he scored 2 points, but added 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Cameron ran the point and he impacted the game on all levels. At times Mike Jones played 6-6, 6-8, 6-8, 6-8 and 6-10 and shut down the US team with great defense
Cameron can score in bunches from all 3 levels if needed and performs every basketball skill at a high level. He should be ranked nationally and is one of the top underrated players nationally.
Cameron played all seasons at MD power Eleanor Roosevelt and thrived under superb Head Coach Brendan O'Connell and his great staff which is one of the best on the East Coast. Additionally, he received outstanding coaching playing AAU for the Distract Basketball Club. Cameron possess excellent fundamentals on both sides of the ball to pair with a beautiful jump shot
Cameron helped lead Eleanor Roosevelt to a MD 4A State Championship and lead ER in scoring at 19 ppg scoring in double digits in very game but one in which Cameron had 9. Unofficially he shot well over 50% and an outstanding assist to turnover ration.
In the MD State finals Cameron totaled 25 points, 14 rebounds , 3 steals and 3 assists. “He is totally unselfish,” Raiders Coach Brendan O’Connell said. “He never forces anything, guards the best player a lot of the time. I can’t say enough.”
Cameron is the only uncommitted player in the Capital Classic. He was originally signed with William and Mary, but de committed after their Head Coach was fired. I am convinced Cameron can play at high level in power 5 conference, but he may prefer a mid major. What I do know, is that school Cameron chooses, they will love him off and on the floor.
