Makes sense. I thought it was a bit of a bad look to start following a rival teams player during your official visit- regardless if they were possibly already acquaintances.

I noticed Brown and Tony Shaver's eldest son Chris are now friends as well.

May have, also, been a borderline recruiting violation issue if there is contact of that nature before the player commits. Quinn Blair and Humphries following each other is different if the relationship was there prior to the school recruiting him.

From what I can gather, there is nothing improper for a school representative (player, booster, or coaches) to have non-public communications in a live recruiting period with a senior year recruit. I guess the question is if following or friending falls under public communication. As commonplace as it is, I'd venture it doesn't.
