Actually, yes I AM seeing the picture here. VERY clearly. I want ALL Sun Belt games to appeal to Bert in Waukesha (remember him?) and make it as visually appealing as possible for him to watch on ESPN. Like it or not, ESPN Events owns the bowls, the money and the air time, they should get a seat at the head of the table on who plays where.

A conference champ stuck against a 6-6 team from across the street playing in a 76,000 seat dark dome isn't appealing to anyone. It cheapens the prestige of the Champ to be forced into that rigid of a situation. We need to be flexible enough to put the Champ in the best situation possible when it's in our best interest to do so.

I'm thankful our bowl commitments are flexible enough to allow us to have the matchups we do this year. The only way your scenario will work long-term is if ALL conferences involved in our bowls agree to slot their teams. At this level, that's not necessarily a good option.

Now, if you want to argue about us having all (or most) of our bowls all on the same day and on the first day of bowl season, then we can march to that cause all day long.
