For a G5 venue, has any other bowl been as fleet of foot attendance-wise over the last 5 or 6 years as the New Orleans Bowl?

Last year's game featured our team and Ark State and brought in 32K, not a record for attendance by any means but still well ahead of most crowds during the previous decade.

Then look how they managed when inviting ULL in a matchup with SDSU? How many people do you think traveled from the west coast yet they had a record crowd.

ULL versus East Carolina? Again, ECU couldn't have brought more than a couple of thousand fans. Again, a record crowd.

ULL versus Tulane. A dream matchup for the NO Bowl and a record attendance wise.

ULL's last game there was a 10AM kickoff against NEVADA of all teams. How many fans do you think Nevada brought? 500? 1000? And yet they still had their 4th best crowd ever.

Had both USM and ULL had records on the order of 9-3, 10-2 or something along those lines, I could easily see 60,000 or more fans in the Dome. Still, even with their lousy records this year, I bet you're going to see a strong showing by both schools, which is what it's all about.

The New Orleans Bowl knows what it's doing and yet you have guys like TIL wanting to handcuff them or basically force them to drop thier conference affiliation. Actually, that'd be fine with me because we could use a yearly bowl tie-in in one of the country's primere venues for sports instead of playing in the freaking Bahamas or Hawaii where few of our fans can attend.
