They practice their Mardi Gras parade. Each school's administrators and coaches get tossed on a float. Your school band gets to join in and march the parade route. It is a very sweet experience the first couple of times you go.

After the first couple of years, we used that parade window to hit Wintzell's Oyster House, when people were at the parade, allowing us to be immediately seated, instead of having to stand in line waiting on a table.

Mobile treats their bowl participants well. New Orleans barely notices you're there.
