Fourth Down Conversions
Why does RA continually refute intelligent coaching and go for it on 4th down? 1-7 was the conversion rate on Saturday and for the season we are 7-19, 37%. Our opponents are 5/8 which is 62%. Just reckless risk taking.

In 2014 we were 10/26 for the whole season, so what is it about this year's team that says that this offense should be taking so many risks with field position and momentum? At what point do you just take the next 32 yard difference from the kicking game?

I can see going for it when you have a loaded backfield with both West and Victor, like we had in 2013 when the Tigers converted 72% of their 4th down gambles. 72% is a great number. In 2012 it was 14/22 and in 2011 it was 15/25.

At some point you really have to question RA and his skills at game management as it could be argued that his risk taking keeps average opponents in the game which gives them a chance to hang around and win.

In 6 seasons + 4 games of a 7th, Ambrose is now 38-39 as head coach, a game under .500 as the Towson head coach. 3 winning seasons, 3 losing seasons, and 2-2 this year. He is 29-10 with an NFL running back on the roster and 9-29 without Terrance West. He's never recruited a quarterback of any merit to the campus, and fell into Grant Enders as a transfer after initially passing on him out of high school after Gordy had offered him.

7 games left this year, 4 home, 3 away.

Rhode Island and Delaware should be wins as both teams are awful. So that gets this team up to 4 wins.

JMU and Villanova are likely losses, so that brings the total to 4 losses.

This season boils down to 3 games.

At Stony Brook on October 17
At Maine on November 7
At William & Mary on November 14

Conventional wisdom says we should beat Stony Brook and Maine, lose to William & Mary, and finish 6-5. However, with an unconventional head coach taking risks that are not paying off, injuries piling up, it makes it a crap shoot every time we step out on the field. Regardless of 6-5 or worse, at best RA is a .500 coach through 7 years on the job all with more support from the University than any coach has ever had in football, or any other sport in Towson history.07-coffee3
