You can't win at nearly the same clip in FBS as you did FCS and you won't win a FBS championship.

Whoops.

Well there is an easy claim.
Almost no team has ever won at the clip that we did in the FCS.
And - first of all the guy said Conference Championships (Is this not an FBS conference making the SBC Title an FBS "Championship"? - "And another thing" - You don't know that we wont win an FBS National Championship. IF/WHEN the FBS playoffs are expanded - that will open up the door for some G5 conference member to take a valid shot it. So - consider that the Belt was claimed the best G5 - consider that we COULD challenge for the SBC Title soon - THIS COULD put us in that expanded playoff. Sure, winning it is another story - BUT once you hit the playoffs - it is also a new season.

We hit that (earn that spot) - any an Belt member doing it helps us all - our recruiting starts to get better etc. We know what it is like to build a program. Nobody is saying we win the National Championship in 3 years. But a Belt Championship within 3 years? That is very possible.

And we don't need no fancy uniforms to do it.

If you guys win a single FBS playoff game in the next thirty years, I'll buy a season ticket the next season.

Stated just like a guy who has been alive as long as his prediction.

Winning a playoff game is largely dependent upon the playoff being expanded and getting in.

So.... I'd be interested to know your guess as to the expansion of it.
When? How many teams? Max number it would include in the next 30 years etc.

I know you think we aren't going to win much in the FBS (Which would make me sad if I were a MTSU fan because we will certainly win more than your program over the next 30 years as we always have). - But incase we do, the # to call is 1-800-GSU-WINS to purchase your Season Ticket. 07-coffee3

No stipulations on the playoff expansion. There's no guarantee that G5 ever gets access for one thing and if we ever do, it will almost definitely always result in a first round match up against the #1 or #2 team in the country. I feel very good about my prediction based purely on the series of statistical improbabilities that would all have to take place.

First the playoff likely needs to expand to 8 for any G5 to have a shot at getting in at all and even then it's probably not even guaranteed, it would likely be only one G5 getting in every couple of years, the playoff would have to expand to 16 for autobids for conference champions to even be discussed and even then I'm not convinced autobids would definitely happen. After factoring all that in, if Georgia Southern got into the playoff at all, you'd more than likely be on the road at the SEC or Big Ten champion for the first round. So my prediction has very little to do with Georgia Southern or any difficulties specific to your program, nor does it have anything to do with the fact that I'm "only 30", but rather just being able to look at the big picture and see the odds just aren't in your(or any individual G5 school) favor. There may not be a single FBS playoff win by any G5 program in the next 30 years.

Now I'd also like to point out that nowhere, at any point, have I said "I don't expect you guys to win very much in the FBS" about the closest you'd find is me saying you aren't going to top UNT's dominance of the early to mid 2000's or Troy's of the mid to late 2000's. I expect you guys will have success at the FBS level, but I also expect there's a very good chance you'll experience as many losing seasons in the next decade as you have previously in your life(unless you're in your 70's).

I also have never said we'd be better than you, you very well may win more than we do, but we haven't played one another in damn near two decades(that was 6 coaches ago for you and 2 coaches ago for us) and haven't even played in the same classification in a decade and a half, so I'm not sure I'd count "we always have" as definitive proof you're going to win more than we are.
