I loved the playoffs and will miss them. I can see the allure of bowls as well. I'm happy either way, but bowls will be much better when the financial burden of ticket sales is placed on the bowl and not on the schools.

No comparison. Bowls are more fun. You get weeks to make your plans and if it a reasonable distance you can't beat hanging out with thousands of people wearing the school colors in another city partying and celebrating a fun season. You want to arrive a couple days in advance and have a football vacation.

Nothing more fun than a NC game.

Well yes, but it takes several wins in front of weak atmospheres to do it. Even then, you're doing it all for a trip to Frisco in a game that no one cares about outside of the alums of both schools

Bowl games are just a different animal entirely. Can't you imagine GS getting its first bowl in a couple years and going to Orlando for a matchup against an AAC school?

Bowl games are fully what your fans make of them. Team's with a strong fan base that travels well can literally turn that bowl game into a week long party.

There are videos out there of both ASU and the Cajuns celebrating their recent bowl games. Take a look at those if you want to know what strong fan bases can turn a bowl game into.

I agree. I went to all 3 of our NC games along with almost every playoff game, and I have also been to several bowls with friends from different schools. Our title games were a lot of fun, but the 3 weeks before werent always as exciting. Honestly, the bowl games were just as much fun as the title games if I take my team bias away.
