So is short for South. Bama is short for Alabama. It's who you are. If you don't like your name you can petition to have it changed to the University of Alabama's Mobile campus.

The world is full of smart a$$ wannabe comedians and your attempt is weak. Bama is the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa. We are the University of South Alabama, USA, South Alabama or simply "South", but you already know that. Calling is SoBama is an insult. Like referring to Troy as Troy State. Get it?

Luckily there are plenty of dumb a$$, uptight, you hurt my feelings, message board whiners to offset all us smarta$$ people out there.

I couldn't care less if people call us Troy or Troy St. SoBama is along the same lines as Ark St. Now that I know it bothers you that much it's extremely doubtful that I will stop calling you by your abbreviated name.

Call us whatever you like. I don't particularly care for SoBama, but if that's what you want to call us, fine.

Calling us the University of Alabama Mobile campus is just incorrect. USA, unlike UAB, have a fully independent board and have no tie to the University of Alabama system other than that we are funded by the same state. Using that would make many wonder if UAT had an extension campus in Mobile and if you were refering to that.

I'm well aware of all that. I was just poking fun at Joejag
