That's the way I am reading this as well. JMU doesn't really want SBC, but fan backlash of they stay FCS Would be immense.

If JMU is not involved, Liberty can probably get the 9 votes needed to join, but as long as JMU is on the table, there is little chance that 9 SBC schools would voluntarily take Liberty.

Wait, Patch said flat out Liberty didn't have the votes. Others have said there is no way LU gets the votes. So, this can't be right. This is why I say LU is still in it, because I think there is a good chance JMU says no. It's all still open.

And I actually believe Liberty is much closer today than they were because they willingly and totally want to be in the SBC. Still don't get why they would prefer a school that would only take them in a gun to the head situation. I also think it's interesting that LU has the funds to travel tennis to TxSt just fine, but JMU is worried this may really hurt them financially.
