They need to let these kids declare for the draft & lift the age restriction; or require them to stay in college through their junior year, like baseball. This one & done rule is just too disruptive.

Been pushing for baseball rules for all sports for years.

Raises questions.

When people complain about shoddy play the response is they are still young and need time to mature.

But if you take steps to protect them from making mistakes that could negatively affect the rest of their lives the response is they are old enough to do what they want.

Think they should raise the age for major league pro sports.

How many pro careers would actually be extended if everyone had to be 21 before they could play in major league sport.

Gives them time to mature physically and mentally.

Create a minor league for all sports so those who want to play can go.

But if you choose college then you're not eligible for the draft till your class finishes Jr season.

You drop out you're still not eligible until your class completes Jr season.

But if an NBA team is willing to pay me millions while I get better and I get to live an NBA lifestyle vs. maybe making decent (NLI era) money and still having to go to school I should have that choice. Nothing in this life is guaranteed so if you can grab generational type wealth 99% of the time you should. Its on the employer to do their due diligence but if they think I'm worth millions of dollars that's on them.
