Maybe we need a new leader or two, but your facts are skewed. For two years we have had an interim president, following the resignation of the previous one. The new President has been chosen and she will take office in the next month or two, pending UT system formalities. As for the AD, he's just a hired hand who only screwed up once so far as we know, by firing Scott Cross, the most successful men's basketball coach in school history. But we've beaten that horse forever and maybe Jim Baker deserves a break. If our new leader, President Cowley has a more open attitude about athletics.....

My sources tell me Baker is on the way out.

Yeah. We'll probably not miss him much. I'm hoping that he will leave the behind-the-scenes things in pretty good shape, unlike the messes that Pete Carlon had to clean up in the past. Budgets, facilities, community outreach, coaching hires and dealing with 18 year-olds can be challenging. Add to that the death of his wife while he was here and the abject failure of his protégé' men's basketball coach - it's been a tough ride. Bless him wherever he goes.
