Pretty disappointed i know we are a bad program but this is a really underwhelming hire

Really? Barbee was one of the top rising coaches in college basketball. got his first job at (what was) a top mid major and had a great 4 year run before getting a P5 HC job. flamed out at auburn but has spent the past 7 years as the associate HC at one of the top 3 programs in college basketball. i don't have great insights on him as a person or coach, but his resume is very strong for a mac HC. compare him to rashon burno who was just hired at NIU. burno has no head coaching experience in college and his top job was 4 years as associate HC at a middling P5 program. maybe, burno turns out to be the better coach but barbee has the better credentials.

Pono, wish had the link to the 1990 NIT game with Siena in Albany. Siena had a big league going into the last part of the second half. The announce started announcing ticket information for the next NIT game. Barbee had a huge drive/motor and came up big with big shots. UMass won the game thanks in part to Tony Barbee. Think he will be very good for CMU. As always how we schedule some more games with MAC teams.
