I assume the money goes to pay off the SAPC.

Folks, including fmr players, could opt to donate to the SAPC or the football team.

The funds are typically restricted according to the donor's wishes.

E.g., if the designation is SAPC that is where the money goes. If the designation is 'football' then the head coach can spend it in accordance with athletic department rules and regulations. Typically the type of things not included in the program budget.

In my case, which may be similar to others, I donate to both the SAPC (paying off my pledge) and make a separate donation to Football.
