1. Michigan State - two national championships under two legendary HCs; great facilities; a basketball first school.

2. Indiana - three national championships under Bobby Knight; expectations may be unrealistic like UCLA; but if you can win in Bloomington, this is probably the best school to coach in the Big Ten; a basketball first school.

3. Maryland - one national championship under HOF HC Gary Williams; another HOF HC in Lefty Drisell; Midnight Madness was started in College Park; talent rich area; a basketball first school.

4. Michigan - one national championship and 14 Big Ten titles; a football first school.

5. Purdue - 24 Big Ten championships in a basketball crazy state.

6. Wisconsin - becoming a basketball school; pretty impressive feat considering the state isn't regarded as being rich in talent.

7. Ohio State - an occassional basketball power; a football first school.

8. Illinois - an infrequent basketball power, because it competes against NW, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, De Paul, Loyola, Marquette, etc. for Chicago area talent.

9. Rutgers - the state school of New Jersey generally mocked for bad HC hires and not being able to mine the basketball talent in New Jersey; Steve Pikiell is the first decent HC since Tom Young.

10. Iowa - if they can successfully recruit Chicago area talent, then Iowa can be very good.

11. Penn State - same issues as Rutgers; hasn't been able to find the right HC.

12. Minnesota - hockey is a more popular winter sport.

13. Nebraska - they play basktball in Nebraska?

14. NW - academic standards are too high; an Ivy League school in the wrong conference.
