after flint 2021 sr owen lobsinger chose western over ut early in the week, news came that big 250 center peyton sparks committed to sign with ball st on friday. sparks first 2 offers were miami and UT. then, over the summer his recruiting really picked up and he got 9 mid major offers in a few weeks time. valpo, hofstra, milwaukee, ball st... don't know much about him or how high he was on UT's board. earlier in the week and a little off the radar S Illinois got commits from a couple 6-5 kids UT offered in 2019 foster wonders and troy d'amico. both were mid major recruits with a lot of offers. wonders should be a solid player, shooter who plays physical, and you gotta love the name. SIU also got a commit from UT offer scottie abebe this july.

not exactly sure what to make of it. UT and SIU are both larger mid major programs that recruit similar talent and footprint, but strange for them to sign 3 UT offers. the other side is coach k offers more recruits than most. he seems to cast a wide net and then zero in on a few of those guys. so far it hasn't worked for 2021. I think lobsinger would have done well at UT. he has a perfectly suited game for the coach k offense. good quick trigger 3 and solid ballhandling and quickness to be versatile at 6-7 (think navigato with a crossover). abebe should be a solid mid major big.

the guy UT is still looking at that most excites me , and I haven't seen video on all the offers, is derrick "mannie" harris, who has a bunch of low major offers along w recent kent, UT, FGCU, and winthrop offers. one of those kids who is suddenly a hot recruit. video reminds me of a young former murray st guard.
