Odd behavior for the wrongly accused.
What purpose would be served by having those who could easily clear him testify in this house proceeding? This is not an attempt to discover truth, this is a kangaroo court run by a lynch mob. If somebody produced unquestionable conclusive evidence that Trump is innocent tomorrow, the house would still vote too impeach.
The only purpose that would be served by producing some documents or allowing people to testify in this proceeding would be possibly to waive executive privilege across a wider spectrum, and basically issue fishing licenses to every democrat on the hill. That, or possibly reveal defensive strategies and supporting facts that democrats would then have time to attack prior to the senate hearing.
What's going on now is not any kind of objective, reasonable proceeding. It's simply an attempt to get as much as possible on the table to serve the interests of the lynch mob. I am hoping that the senate proceeding will be more of a reasonable, objective one, although I don't hold out great expectations of that.
So far, there's not enough to convict Trump of jaywalking, and I don't think that enough to support conviction and removal will ever be presented. But that's not what this is about. This is the democrats' last shot at getting Trump before the 2020 election, and they're going to do everything they can to make it happen.
