Is the system flawed? Yeah. It should be an 8 team playoff and UCF should and would have had a shot there.

But in a 4 team playoff format, no. They played a bunch of nobodies and went undefeated. Going undefeated at any level is an achievement, but it doesn’t mean they are one of the 4 best teams in the country.

Everything else is hypothetical noise. Their SOS blew ass, just like the rest of us in the G5. I have no idea how they would have done in a P5 conference, but it doesn’t matter. They didn’t play in one.

That's not the argument that I (or most others) am making. I don't like the 4 team playoff. I want every team in FBS to have the OPPURTUNITY to play for a National Championship. If they have to be an 8 seed and play the best team in America to get to that game, so be it. I just think they deserve a shot.

I’ll be honest though, I don’t think an 8 team field solves it. Say we get a year with 2 undefeated G5 teams...who gets the bid? Does the one that didn’t deserve a shot now? Personally I think 16 is too many.

This is totally hypocritical for me to say as an App fan, but the truth is there are too many FBS teams.

Short of us basically turning NCAAFB into an FA Cup format, it’s never going to be equitable. Which, i might add, would be a pretty fun format.
