The Citadel's stadium will need more seats to accomplish this, after the lead contamination scare which took thier capacity down considerably.
I was initially going to disagree with you, but one thing that supports your opinion is that Coastal's stadium is still 20-25 minutes from Ocean Boulevard, whereas Citadel's stadium is on the peninsula.
El Cid has a seating problem now though.
I don't know, in some ways, I think it would be better to have a packed small stadium vs. a 30,000 capacity stadium with only 8000 fans in it.
Then this means you're advocating for Coastal to host. Our stadium will hold ~21k people after this year's expansion.
Based on the bowl attendance numbers coming in, we could host 2 of the 4 bowl crowds that showed up, but even those would make our stadium "packed". Our two smallest attended bowls so far were 19k and 20k.
And you know as well as I do with how well App and GS travel. If you put a bowl closer to them in Conway, SC, the attendance will reach even higher numbers.
I believe most SBC East teams would pack Coastal's stadium for a bowl IF it's a great opponent.
