Branding dictated that we stopped using ASU when joining the SBC.
GSU and GS are going to be confused until you both use something else.
But like preaching to the choir I know this just doesn't matter to posters.
Georgia State is happy to use GSU, but even the conference writers get confused.
sTaTe would not be appropriate with the double TT's.
Anyway that's why I either spell it out or use GaSt and GaSo.
Posters on other boards or outside a lot of times talk about the real GSU.

You are the only one that makes any sense. They will get it when the Media and Networks start using the wrong abbreviations for each school. Maybe it wasn't confusing when everybody knew who Georgia Southern was and what abbreviations they used but it will be different in the FBS.

Some say winning will take care of it. We will see if they still don't know which school is GSU. I've been following sports for 50 yrs and I never heard of Georgia Southern referred to by GS. I would even keep track of McNeese in the FCS, so it's not because I wasn't up on the FCS.

Believe me, people will get confused with GSU and GS.

After the GSU/ Ga. State game, (The Battle For The Real GSU) their will only be one standing and that would be the RGSU.

Who cares? Let them have GSU. I'm too proud of my school to shorten the name, we're Georgia Southern. All of us should be proud enough to take the extra few seconds to say Georgia Southern. That way there's no confusion....ever.



Even our logo proudly states it. I know you're a big smack talk guy (hell our forum dedicated to that is named after you) but it's time to give this up. The university has made the effort to remove itself from using the GSU moniker. If you want to make fun of them, just call them Gast.....cause they're gonna be gassed when we run all over them. We'll let results do the talking from now on.
