Sorry to break it to you (not that any of this is really important). I've lived here for 8 years. As soon as you hit the outer boundary of Troy there is a sign that says "Montgomery 40". One that says "Troy 40" when you leave Montgomery. 50 for Dothan. A sign that says "Montgomery 90" as you're leaving Dothan. Those sites are most likely computing courthouse to courthouse or some other central locations within the cities and not line to line.

I drive it about 10 times a year going to the gulf and about 40 miles sounds right to me. I know it takes me 30 to 35 minutes to get from the last light into Troy and to the turn at Montgomery. I average at least 80mph unless the grass in the media is high then you can bet a cop is sitting somewhere with a radar gun alone the way.

But this whole argument is silly because I agree with the Troy fan..

having a bowl 40 minutes away could get boring quickly. Especially since a lot of Troy fans probably visit Montgomery a handful of times a year.

I don't disagree about the bowl, but that was not the argument I was making at any point.
