Driven by paranoid coaches who use their considerable skills to influence administrators and a compliant media, focus gets diverted away from things that matter and lands on minutiae like this because it gives the appearance of a competitive advantage — even though there's literally no evidence that it actually creates one.

And yet every offseason, without fail, somebody whines and creates a crisis where one does not exist, diverting attention and time away from stuff that matters.

Penn State certainly drained the entire state of talent, leaving Georgia State destitute, removing all chances of Georgia State becoming a top notch program. No, fine members of the jury, Georgia State has done that all by themselves. But you know who had no impact on GSU whatever? Penn State.

That should about wrap it up guys. We can all go home now knowing that the true nature of a big stink about nothing has been revealed. Now can we please turn off this year long Seinfeld episode?
