Agree, hate this. I call out my classmates for this behavior. Here it's tech/uva. I tell them "hey, you can transfer if you want" and they tend to give me some sob story about how they grew up a tech fan.

Usually it is "my dad and uncles are all blah blah fans".

I ask "would they stop bouncing you on their knee if you grew up and became a fan of your own school?"
