division what incentive do they have to want other conferences from the G-5 to join?

All of the "sexy Issues" including full cost scholarships and training tables, and so called "health and welfare" issues for student athletes can be adopted by the G5. There will be no scholarship count differences between P5 and G5. I full expect that the G5 leagues will be in lock step with any so called "permissive" changes the P5 vote in by super-majority of p5 members. The reaction some folks are having here is a bit overblown.
