We would bring 30,000 plus. It would also be a nice change from New Orleans. You bring the family and hit Disney and Universal.
30,000 buying plane tickets? That's a lot of money for a lot of people. And remember those tickets are gonna be somewhat expensive.
You'll find that a lot of people will simply look at the difference between driving to New Orleans and staying with friends (or just coming back the same day) and spending 1500 bucks a couple to buy 2 plane tickets, rent a car, and get a hotel for 2-3 days and not go to Orlando.
Driving games, especially ones where you don't need a hotel room are going to be much better attended. And therefore more desirable for the school.
NOLA has a ton of alumni that will take the flight. It's also a twofer with Disney and Universal. Folks from Acadian will make the trip either driving or by flight. They laughed at 48,000 for the NOLA Bowl. I stand by my 30,000 plus it could be more.
Okay, you win. ULL, which doesn't have 30,000 season ticket holders, has 30,000 people ready to spend more money to attend one game than it costs to attend every ULL home game in Lafayette. Why? Because you say so.
If that's the case, ULL should start playing a home game a year in Orlando, because that would really help them sell more tickets to their games.
Actually, I think ULL playing one home game a year in New Orleans might be a good idea (if the Superdome can even host regular season games as a host site of the playoffs). But Orlando? Nope.
