Imagine if Tar Heels had a nickname that was just for their school, would you want that associated with Appalachian State?

Mizzou is a nickname for the school in Columbia, it comes from Missouri U. Its not a nickname for the entire state.

People get too touchy over this stuff. I know many fans at App that will jump you one side and down for the Appalayshun pronunciation. I don't really give a crap what name or letters or nicknames are used. Eh.....to each their own.

So App-uh-lay-shun is a no-no? Only use App-uh-latch-in? Or is there another pronunciation?

App-uh-latch-in is what the people want, the students especially dislike app-uh-lay-chun

App-uh-lay-shun is Yankee talk!
