RE: UL-L Turned Down Independence Bowl?
UL has great fan support and the NO Bowl has in the last 2 years experienced a shock wave from the Cajuns being there---can you imagine going from about 22K to almost 50K, which by the way, was probably 95% Cajun fans----a University selling more than most of the BIG 5 conferences in the country of their ticket allotment-----If the right team would have been guaranteed for the Indy Bowl we might have taken it but with the date, the possible weather conditions, and S-Port compared to NO---It surely becomes the classic NO BRAINER---Add to this that last year and I imagine this year, the Cajuns wouldn't be compensated for their extra fans ticket sales or given the type of seating that the NO Bowl gives us---Can you possibly see our point???? Also add that the money that UL generates was shared by covering your asses of expense occurred!!! Please tell me where selfishness stars or ends and common sense prevails!!!!
