Does the added perception of a Confrence Champion, determined by a Championship game matter?

I seem to recall that the selection comitte for the new playoffs whould take that into account when determining who goes where.

I think we all know that a Confrence Championship game at this time will be a money and attendnace loser. The question is will it be a perception winner?
