As far as who is better, I think its pretty much a wash. The MAC has had more success at the top end, but their bottom is awful, even compared to the Sun Belt.

Toledo, BGSU, Central Mich, NIU, and Miami (OH) and Ohio have had recent success. UMass is a moveup. Eastern Mich and Ball State are awful and might be considered terminally bad programs. Several of these teams buy their minimum home attendence requirement.

In the SBC, Troy, MTSU, stAte, ULL, and WKU have had recent success. ULM is the only terminally bad program in the Belt. FAU needs to up its game.

I think in all honesty, we don't know how Texas State, South Alabama, and Georgia State are going to perform, so we really can't say.

Please explain your VERY biased statement above. In 2011-2012, ULM only finished last in the SBC in 1 sport and that was men's basketball and that was due to APR sanctions. So, while you are busy spewing your ignorance with respect to ULM sports, please explain your very ignorant statement. A terminally bad program will finish last in the SBC in all sports...it seems that ULM was one of very few schools to beat ULL in softball, has not finished last in the SBC in football or second to last in years and is poised to make a run in the baseball tourney. So, again. Please explain your very poor statement.

I will. You don't fund your athletic programs properly. Your OOC scheduling blows (although congratulations - you've get a FBS (and AQ) home game for the first time in a while). You are the only program in the Sun Belt other than the move ups that has never had a winning record (part of that has to do with your practice of scheduling 3 bodybag games and 1 FCS home game for your OOC).

I am only talking about football. Do you guys have any OOC home games other than Baylor this year (good get btw) and Tulane inked for the next couple of years.

You'll probably beat South this year. But South is applying more resources and is scheduling OOC games against FBS teams that are winnable and getting home games too.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh to call ULM terminally bad, but I'm tired of seeing you guys scheduling losing seasons because you need the money from 3 body bag away games. Between 2008 and 2015, I only see THREE FBS home games either played or scheduled. Two against Tulane and 1 against Baylor.

Beating Alabama was great, but having a winning season would be better.

First of all, spending does not equate to success. If so, we shouldn't finish better than last in any sport.

As for our football schedule, we are done in by our OOc schedule. With that though, I guarantee that no other team in the SBC would do any better with our OOC schedule. We have worked to lessen the severity of our schedule, and that will show in 2013 forward. The 2012 OOc schedule will be brutal, as we will conclude our contract with Arkansas. However, please do not allow our performance in our OOC games fool you. We WILL be one of the toughest programs in the SBC.

Second, as shown in a separate thread, with our current shortfalls we still turned a $1.4M profit in 2011/2012. Not bad, considering programs that finished lower than us suffered losses. So again, money spent means nothing but someone had more money to spend to finish behind ULM.

Again, except for men's basketball's APR issues, ULM has NOT been terminally bad. In football, we had a Top 25 overall defense in 2011, and that defense has gotten bigger, stronger and faster. 2012 shall be interesting...

Yall say that every year, that yall will have a GREAT year. But havnt seen it yet....Maybe this year will be yalls year....IM just glad that if it is TROY doesnt play ya!

BTW I have to Say TROY has a DREAM schedule this year!! WE get 6 REAL home games, 2 of which are Mississippi State and Navy...PLUS 2 away games INSIDE the state of Alabama at UAB and USA....Its almost like we have 8 home games!!!
