ENGLEWOOD – The Western Athletic Conference Board of Directors today announced that an invitation for membership has been issued to and accepted by the University of Idaho to join the conference as full member effective July 1, 2005.

The announcement came at the conclusion of the Board’s annual meeting in Half Moon Bay, California.

"The University of Idaho is a good fit and has a long history with several of the current WAC members," said Commissioner Karl Benson. "It also has an academic program that is attractive, it has men and women’s athletic programs that we believe adds to the overall strength of the WAC and its location makes geographical sense for the conference."
