Tied 2 sets a piece. Going to 5th and final set. The rivalry between Rice and WKU in volleyball has been epic.

Rice wins in 5 sets preventing WKU from winnIng its 5th straight conference tourney championship. Well done Rice. Hopefully both make noise in the NCAA.

It would be nice if Rice could host a regional in two weeks. WKU got screwed out of hosting last year, and both teams have proved in the NCAA's that they're great teams (Rice swept San Diego in the 1st round last year).
Good luck to WKU in the tournament and in the future. Maybe we can play each other again down the road - this has been perhaps the best conference rivalry in any sport over the past 5-6 seasons?

Congratulations to both programs!
I was very impressed with WKU when UNT faced them Saturday, and thought they'd beat Rice today. WKU has a real chance to go deep in the tourny, and I hope they do.
So far this year, it looks like every C-USA championship has headed out the door with programs leaving for the AAC (Charlotte- Men's & Women's XCountry & UTSA- Women's soccer). Congratulations to Rice for now claiming the volleyball title, especially since y'all are a Texas program.

Rice doesn't get to host - got robbed by the committee who gave it to Marquette and Penn State likely over us. Rice is a #5 overall seed and is in Baylor's regionals. Rice plays Colorado in the opening game.
Western Kentucky is a #6 overall seed, and is in Kentucky's regional. WKU plays Bowling Green in its opener.
Good luck to both teams.

Those are not overall seeds, regional seeds, so they viewed WKU 21-25 and Rice 17-20. Volleyball committe is so lazy, every other year we have to play UK, why? Also a team we already beat in first round, thats the best they can do?

NCAA committees for Olympic sports, in general, are all pretty lazy .
It reminds me of high school playoffs where the playoff spots are predetermined before the season even begins (ie District 1 champ plays District 2 4th place...all the way down to District 31 3rd place plays district 32 2nd place). Often times a certain area or region is stronger in a specific sport so that the actual championship game might occur at the quarterfinal round or earlier
